Maggie Arrives Safely at ARK2000 and Takes Her First Trip Around the African Habitat

Shortly after 1pm this afternoon, her Alaskan and Californian keepers in tow, Maggie took her first walk down the fence line of the big African elephant habitat at ARK2000!

With the other four African elephants graciously waiting in their barn, Maggie took the opportunity to experience a bit of her new life for the first time.

Though her entire jaunt was visible from the PAWS web cam, we hope to post photographs of this momentous occasion as soon as possible. Keep checking back for news of Maggie's progress.
